Tonight marks one year since Julia joined Girl Scouts. She had her rededication ceremony at a local pizza parlor with her troop and all their families. She earned her membership pin and several other patches. Yeah, more sewing for mom! (Or whoever will trade jobs with mom. Last time I traded sewing for lawn mowing and edging; sewing those things on by hand is too painful.) Grandma and Grandpa were able to attend tonight as well. It's been fun having them home from their mission to Tampa, Florida after a year and a half.
Since joining the troop a year ago, Julia has been to two day camps, an overnight trip to Seattle via the train (where she and mom both slept on the floor of the Seattle Science Center...oh the joy!), two pumpkin patch trips, marched in the parade, sold 750+ boxes of cookies, been to the theater, collected food for the hungry (Walk and Knock), made 3 Build-a-Bear animals (one for herself and two for hospitalized children), learned to roller skate, attended carnivals and bake shops, dined out with her troop...the list could go on for pages. Needless to say, Julia loves being involved with her Brownie troop and looks forward to new adventures this coming year.
