Only In The Northwest

Today, Julia's brownie troop was invited to march in the Veteran's Day Parade downtown. Of course, it was nice and dry all morning....however, almost as if arriving on schedule for the start of the parade, THIS is what happened........ (see radar map below). It would be an understatement to say that it started raining; "rain" wasn't really the word for what fell from the sky (sideways at times) as Julia marched along the parade route. I was waiting under an awning at Starbucks with an umbrella and I was soaked from the knees down. Julia, on the other hand, decided not to wear a coat, nor open the umbrella that she took...............we literally could wring water from her socks and other items of clothing when we got home. On the drive home, I knew it was pouring not only because my wipers were on warp speed, but because there was standing water (it was actually probably moving) on a HILL. How is that possible to have a near-lake on a hill. When we came home, we heard a clap of thunder that shook the windows and hail started to pelt the glass. We checked the weather online to find the radar map looking red and a flood advisory posted for our county. It was a wonderful day for a parade..................in the northwest.
