Elk Meadows Hike

On the following weekend (July 12-14), they hiked 15 miles in Elk Meadows and Mt Hood Meadows in the Mount Hood National Forest.  This hike was interesting because they had cell phone access for nearly the entire trip.  The hiking area is very close to the ski resort, so there's plenty of cell coverage in the area.  Even though they were close to civilization (sort of), the scenery was beautiful, and they didn't run into too many other hikers.
Here's Jourdan at Umbrella Falls:
They even found some snow on the mountain:
Jourdan tried to cross over a frozen stream....you can see where his foot went right through at Mt. Hood Meadows.
The remaining snow in the area created beautiful natural "sculptures":
This is the area where they camped....Elk Meadow.  Such a picturesque place with Mt. Hood's peak in the background.
