Great Wolf Lodge

Julia won a trip with Girl Scouts to Great Wolf Lodge for selling 1200+ Girl Scout cookies.  Unfortunately, some brilliant person decided to plan the trip the same weekend as the local Girl Scout camp.  Hello?!?  Who does that?  You would think that these people worked in different offices or something, but NOT SO.  Anyway, she and I were already committed to Camp Yamhill that weekend, so she finally talked the council into getting her a gift card to Great Wolf  Lodge.  Again, you would think that this was a great thing, but, again, NOT SO.  They gave her a gift card for $80 which does not go too far at this place, but it was a token amount that we used to get us there.  Despite the frustrating way the trip came about, we all had a good time.

Julia loved her room.  She choose the "Wolf Den" room that had bunk beds for the kids; she was thrilled with her choice.  They even had their own flat screen TV (not that they really had time to watch it - but it's the thought that counts)!
It's a challenge for me to go into a pool for SOOOO many reasons.  One of which is how I look in a swimsuit, but mostly, it's about the OCD I have about "sharing" pool water with other people.  Also, walking around barefoot is a huge issue for me.  Anyway, I am willing to overcome my "issues" for Julia (or other family members) but not for too many other reasons.
Many people, I'm sure, have been to Great Wolf Lodge.  If you haven't, it's a fun place; and the bonus is that it's indoors, so we didn't have to worry about sunburns, wind, and the exhaustion that both of those things can cause.

Both of the kids spent most of their time in the wave pool.  Jourdan is wearing Julia's pink goggles, and Julia has the ponytail.  You wouldn't think I would have to point them out; you would think I could make a video with only my kids in it....NOPE!  (It's amazing how many people can cram into a small pool area.)

I love the look on their faces as they come out of the "Tornado".  It's a slide that empties into a giant sideways funnel....the raft then slides back and forth until you are dumped into another slide and out the other end.
So this is the "before" picture as the 1,000 gallon bucket of water begins to tip over on the kids and I.  Below is the water "making contact".

We had a great time, but it was a bit too expensive to plan another trip in the very near future.  Thanks to Julia for the fun family get-away!

Looks like so much fun! I've heard only fantastic things about GWL. Glad you got to go! The room looks cool. (P.S. I love your swimming suit. You'd told me about it before, but I'd never seen it. It's awesome!) We have two GWLs not too far from us (one outside Toronto and one outside Cleveland) so we'll have to give it a try one of these times. It looks like a party!
