Cookie Cargo Overload??

Well, that time of the year has arrived again - Girl Scout cookie sales.  Julia and her dad have been working hard pounding the pavement and selling cookies to everyone she knows (plus all manner of strangers).  The cookie total can be found on the upper left-hand corner of our blog under her photo.  (Of course, if you are reading this many months from now, that may not still be true; but for now....)
Friday morning, I went to the shipping warehouse to pick up the troop cookies with another Girl Scout mom.  We filled our vans!  After taking all the boxes out, counting and sorting, I loaded all the cookies that belonged to Julia's customers back into my van.  MOST of the cookies that we picked up at the warehouse belonged to Julia.  It's kind of ridiculous, but she really loves this part of being a Girl Scout.  (It is not at all my favorite part, but I do enjoy the "eating of the cookies" part.)
Here's what my van looked like (and yes, I did fold down the back seats) :

Each of those cardboard boxes contains a dozen boxes of cookies, so you can do PART of the math.

I immediately went to Jourdan's middle school to unload the cookies that he sold to his friends and teachers.  Then I went to Julia's school to do the same.  Everyone was commenting that they were surprised that I was already delivering cookies.  I had to say, " Are you kidding me?  I have to clear at least two more seats in this van so I can take my own two children home today!"  There was not an open seat in my van except for the driver's seat.  After 3 hours of loading and unloading, I finally made room for someone in the front passenger seat and cleared enough room for Julia's tiny behind in the back seat (thank goodness she's small).
So, as you go about your activities for the next couple of weeks, think of me driving around (in circles) all over town trying to empty the van completely.  That thought and mental image might be enough to entertain you for a few minutes.  Just in case you need more to laugh at....here's some more pictures.

Yes, that is Julia's head peeking over all the boxes.  Also, this picture was taken after we had delivered over 300 boxes of cookies - so we still have a long way to go.

WOW!!!!! Those are great pictures! The number of cookies is mind-blowing. Good luck this week getting rid of them--I'm sure that is a lot of work!

We've already made it through one sleeve of Thin Mints. It was part of Sunday's dessert...okay, it WAS Sunday's dessert. I was too busy assembling KK's valentines (check the blog) to make anything else. SO glad we got our cookies already. Good luck getting the rest of 'em delivered.
