What's Done is DONE!

I can hardly believe it, but we're finished!  Julia has finished selling all her Girl Scout cookies.  All the money has been collected, and all the deliveries have been made.  On Saturday, she took her cash portion of her sales to the bank to have it counted again (Dad already counted it several times) and changed into $100 bills instead of all the $1's, $5's, and $10's.  Here's the "before picture" of just a portion of her cash....she couldn't hold it all.
The poor lady at the bank sure ended up with her hands full when Julia got there.  The good news is that Dad had counted correctly.  Here's the cash all piled up after it was counted - all $4700 of it!

After we traded it all in for $100's, she had reduced her pile significantly (which the cookie mom really appreciates).  She collected another $2850 in check payments.  I can't even begin to tell you what was paid in blood, sweat (mostly Dad), and tears (mostly from me...with the tears - Julia did not complain).
She has surpassed her sales goal of 2011 cookies.  We appreciate everyone who helped add to that total, box by box.  She is looking forward to her prizes which include an i-pod touch, a portable tv/dvd player, digital camera, digital picture frame, and various other smaller prizes.  She will also have a TON of "cookie credit" to spend on camps and other items at the Girl Scout store.  (If anyone needs uniforms, books, or patches, please let us know.....we don't know how to spend it all before it expires!)  What a relief to be finished with cookie sales 2011.

Whew! That's amazing. We are loving our cookies! Thanks for letting us be part of this. Congratulations, Julia! (And Mom...and Dad...there really should be a parent award for such things. )

Congratulations to all of you!! It definitely seems like it was a team effort. I would like you to do a blog post sometime entitled, "Things the Hale Family Only Does Half-Heartedly". Are there any?

@ Becky - Yes, there are a lot of things *I* do half-heartedly....cleaning, weeding the yard, combing my daughter's hair (and let's face it - my own). At the top of my list would have to be cooking - I really don't enjoy cooking. So, yes, there are a lot of things, but I'm not sure I SHOULD blog about all that stuff.
@Shannon - Yes, the Dad-person totally needs a prize. He worked so hard to help her sell her cookies.
