50 Years in the Making

The reason we went to Denver for Christmas was to celebrate this event that took place 50 years ago:
All four of the Hale children, their spouses, and all of their children (and their spouses-except 1- and kids) came to Denver to help with the celebration.  In total, there were 33 family members in attendance.  The logistics of getting everyone there,  housing them in 9 rooms in one hotel, renting 4 cars (and borrowing 2 from the Hales), and feeding everyone was an amazing feat.  Everything went as smoothly as could be expected with such a large crowd.    Here's a look at the couple today:

We all admire them for their commitment to each other and their children.  I am impressed (as one who has been adopted into the family through marriage) with the dedication they have shown to each other.  These days, it's saying a whole lot to still be willing to put up with each other after so many years.  They have given all of us a legacy of love to share with our own families.

We certainly are thankful to have you in our family. We loved the celebration you all planned and carried out and NOTHING could be better than having you all with us. It was one of the wonderful memories that we will always hold dear. Thanks to all of you who made it happen and, Jennifer, we know you did a great deal of work. Love you
