This year she (again) had to wait a month to have her birthday celebration. Her "mean" mother made a rule that Girl Scout cookie sales and birthday parties may not happen at the same time. She didn't complain about the delay - in fact, she planned, decorated, created the invitations, did most the shopping, and cleaned the house in preparation for the party. (Gotta love the motivation this kid has to get things done. I wish it was contagious!) Julia took her friends to Firstenburg Community Center to swim in the pool. Then, they came back to the house for a pizza party, games, gifts, and a sundae party.
As soon as the whistle blew....they were off!
It's hard to see, but the girls a are making a "conga" line in the pool on the left side of the frame.
All the party guests:
Julia and Grandma:
Julia had a great time; and we think that all her friends did too. I just can't believe that she's already 11 and will be going to middle school next year! Yikes!
