After-School Sports - Round 3

I wasn't quite prepared for the kids to participate in so many after-school sports teams this year. While Julia participated in track in elementary school (which only lasted 4-5 weeks), neither of the kids has ever shown much interest in athletics until very recently.
Julia tried out for the basketball team, after having such a good time with volleyball.  At first, she was very disappointed to have been placed on the "B" team, and not the "A" team.  After a few days, she realized that being on the "B" team had some serious advantages.  Instead of being a mediocre player on the top team, she instantly became one of the best players on the "B" team.  It was a great boost to her confidence, which really changed her whole attitude and skills on the court.  She got to play point guard.  I don't claim to be a basketball expert, but I've never seen so much aggression on the court.  These middle school girls are vicious - body checks, tripping, shoving, elbows to the gut...you name it, some of these young "ladies" were just plain mean to play against.

I'm not sure I understand what the "face" is about in the picture above, but it was really fun to watch her play with so much confidence.

Once they saw me pull out my camera, they all stopped talking to pose for a picture across the court.
