Julia's track meet was rescheduled from a week before... because it was raining on the original date. Imagine our surprise (as Northwesterners), when it was pouring on the day they actually had the track meet. It didn't matter too much to the parents, we were on the covered bleachers, but the kids ran, threw, jumped, and hurdled in the rain. Julia was a soggy "wet pet" (from our favorite Dr. Seuss book "One Fish, Two Fish..") but she managed to do quite well for her first time. She participated in the 100 meter, 200 meter, standing long jump, and shot put throw. She came in 2nd in the 100 meter and 3rd in the 200 meter. Good job Julia!
At the starting line for the 100 meter.

Julia just about to cross the finish line....third in the 200 meter. (You can see her coach, Mrs. George giving the kids a big "thumbs up" at the finish line!)

Julia displays her two ribbons....all wet, and totally crunched from the weather. If I ever figure out how to post videos from our new video camera, I will.

Great job, Julia!!! Way to go! And I love the pictures, too. I'm POSITIVE Mrs. George would be such a great coach!! How cool!
