Surprise!

Jourdan's birthday was a month prior to this surprise party. He was totally surprised because he thought we had totally forgotten about his birthday; we hadn't....we just did not have a free weekend. We've been so busy with Pajama Game rehearsals, Girl Scout activities, Boy Scout camp outs, Dance Festival....this list goes on and on. So, I found the one free weekend we had in all of April, May, June and July and invited all his friends over. The look on his face when he walked through the door was priceless - wish I had a picture of that to share.

This party was easy, and I didn't put as much time into it. When he originally planned his party (months ago) he wanted pizza and ice cream sundaes. No problem. No real clean-up or prep either! It couldn't have been easier. Also, we didn't even do paper invites this year...too much of a risk he would find clues, so we just sent them all via e-mail. It worked out fantastic. I can hardly believe Jourdan is 12.....seems like we just celebrated his first birthday a few months ago.

I think this whole party is so cool! I bet he loved it, and it's great that he WAS surprised! Yeah, too bad you didn't get a picture of his face at "surprise!" I'm glad he had so much fun (but I'm sorry we missed it--for, what the first time in 11 years?! Well, I guess we did miss a couple from Israel...) Anyway, the party sounds SOOO easy from the mom's point of view, so I love that! :) (Preston's party is next week and he wants just food and friends playing bkball, ping pong, Wii, air hockey. No cake even. He doesn't even want invitations--he just wants to call people and invite them! Whatever. But it should be easy, so YAY!)

Jourdan, we miss you & hope you had a great birthday AND a great birthday party later!
