Crash!

I usually try to take the kids out to lunch about once a week. So, today, I was grateful that I was about 10 minutes late to pick Jourdan up from school to take him out to Quiznos. Had I been on time, I would have been in the middle of THIS.....

From what I heard (this is all second-hand knowledge)...a young kid (think teen) was driving down the main road at a very high speed. He came down the road between the school and the community park, hit the speed bumps, and went hurdling into the teachers' cars. The kids car is the truck that is standing on its nose. A secretary's car is on its side (totalled) and two other cars are all smashed up. As I was walking into the office, the ambulance with the driver inside was pulling away. Apparently, some kids (including Jourdan) were out on the field for PE when it happened. Thankfully, he didn't see it happen, but he says that some kids did. No students were hurt, and no teachers/staff were in their cars at the time. This could have been so much worse. No word, as of now on the driver! Counting my blessings today for "timing" being in my favor.

PS So today, I made myself a promise to update the blog....the other news will have to follow later. (At least I updated it, right?)

WOW!!! That is NOT a good picture! How totally scary! I am envisioning where this happened (and I know those speed bumps), and he must have been going REALLY FAST for that to happen!! Yikes!

I thought this sort of thing only happened on the big screen with big budget in Hollywood. That's amazing. So glad your timing was off and you were running late.
