Both actually. Jourdan and his dad went to Camp Pioneer near Mount Jefferson (75 miles east of Salem) two weekends ago. The camp is on Pine Ridge Lake with a picturesque view of the mountain in the background. It proved to be a challenge with our camera to get a photo of Jourdan, the lake, and the mountain in one shot, but the attempt was made.
Jourdan did a 15 mile bike ride when he arrived at camp on Friday night.
On Saturday, Jourdan and Jonathan spent the day with pick axes reclaiming forest land.
It was a lot of work, but it counted as a campout (toward the 20 required for the camping merit badge - which is required for Eagle Scout). The campouts are hard to get in a short period of time, so any one that they can attend is precious. When Jourdan finishes his Eagle (and all the requirements involved) it will be well earned! They had a campout this weekend as well, and another scheduled for the next weekend....I'll post those pictures later.
