Take Us Out to the Ball Game

Uncle Joel and Aunt Renee invited us to go with them to a Mariner's Game last Wednesday night. We got Julia out of school early and made the 3 hour journey to Seattle. We arrived just in time for the start of the game against the Oakland A's. We had a great time! The weather was even nice (translation: it was NOT raining in the Northwest!) The tickets they had were in the 6th row just passed 3rd base...they were pretty great seats.

Julia and Uncle Joel had quite the dance routine going. I wish I would have made a video. Hopefully, the pictures will suffice. Too bad Joel is covered by the "dancing girl".

Jourdan was hollering like a "real" fan, even though I don't think he even knew the Mariner's were a baseball team before this game. I can still hear his voice ringing in my ears...he was right behind me. My favorite line he repeatedly shouted was, "Hey, I could do that better than you!" When we asked him how he thought he could possibly play baseball better than a professional (he is NOT a baseball player at all), he said, "I can strike out and miss when I swing just like that....even better!" Funny kid! The game ended at 10, and we made the three hour drive back to Vancouver. We arrived shortly after 1am. Then, we all got up early and went to work and school the next morning. We were tired, but the game was worth it.
